I've noticed that too.  I leave reviews being honest but not cruel.  I agree that some of the stuff out there sucks, & they have not one single flame.  But the really great stuff is flamed from here to the moon & back.  You may be on to something.  Yikes, that's scary.

I have an issue with flamers as well, but for a different reason.

As unfortunate as it is, flamers are rampant. Unfortunately, they seem to thrive on degrading others work, instead of politely giving their opinion and suggestions on what they think could/should be altered. Even worse they flame some of the wrong stories. I won't put any titles in, but there have been a number of fan fiction that are beautifully written, have great character development and a terrific plot, yet some idiot comes in and repetitively flames the author "screaming" about how they're "taking too long to get to the lemon" and "they chapters are too long and the vocabulary is too complex". Luckily, most of the authors are just mildly annoyed by these reviewers and continue writing. ^^

On the other hand, there are stories that I've begun reading that are atrocious (some of which are award-winning) . They are littered with syntax errors and other proof-reading mistakes, complete out of character-ness. .. just horrible. And yet, these stories have neigh a single review with any constructive criticism, let alone a flame (most just have the standard, "OMG!!1! What a grate chapter. i <<3 This story! UPDATE NOOW!!!). It's a little ironic. I'm actually beginning to believe these "authors" are the ones going to the better stories and leaving these garbled, l33t-filled flames.

So sp00t on the shitty flamers and authors alike. Go take an English class. You people give me a headache.

Hey all Nefra here! In response to this... I've been writing fanfiction for

close to six years now and I still get the occasional flame. And yes, most of

the flames consist of that kind of content, AKA misspelling, blatant hatred,

B. have no life

C. have nothing better to do

Those are only a few of the reasons that I've encountered during my time in

writing fanfictions. I have to admit that I have responded in a rather

childish manner to them in the past but sometimes they're just so freakin' funny

that I can't help myself. Especially the ones where people say they hate me or

wish I would die. Like we need people like that reading our fanfictions. Out

there in the writing world you have critics that critique your work not the

person as an individual. I have personally been threatened, had my accounts

deleted, 'verbally' attacked via email, had my character questioned and

basically been called every name in the book. I just let it roll off of me.

In short, flamers are just another one of those things that are

unfortunately a part of the fanfiction universe. I've known more than one writer who

stopped writing all together because of flamers. If someone doesn't like a story

they should say why they don't like it not give a 'GO DIE' message. I mean

come on, do we as writers push the reader's face to their monitor and MAKE them

read our stuff? I despise people who think they're doing you a favor by

making us believe this. Oh, they may not come out and say it but that's the

impression they give. IT'S A FREE COUNTRY PEOPLE!

Sorry for that outburst! I absolutely abhor flamers. I have never, and I do

mean NEVER given a flame. Constructive criticism yes but never a flame.

That's my opinion based on my personal experiences. It may not be much but it's

mine and like some opinions, it probably stinks but at least I stick by what I

believe in. Keep writing whatever it is you're writing because if you like it

and you have any positive responses or constructive criticism that's all

that truly matters in the long run.

the story is a AU.
kagome and sesshoumaru went out in it then broke up and sesshoumaru married kagura because she said she was pregnant with his kid but kagome was also pregnant and kagura lost her baby so she took kagomes because kagomes baby was also sesshoumaru's. while sesshoumaru is married to kagura, he and kagome are having an afair until one day she finds out shes pregnant again so she moves to america to live with souta who is learning to be a doctor there. thats basicly all i can remember on that one.

please please please with a cherry on top help me find this story! i have tried everything i can think of that would have been in the summery to try and find it but i have had no luck!

yang lain seperti apa, that's the question.

Nah, menurut pengalaman saya bertatap muka dengan
ratusan manusia dari berbagai macam backgrounds
(agama, bangsa, bahasa, tradisi), saya menemukan bahwa
ternyata manusia dimana-mana itu SAMA SAJA.

Semua manusia itu spiritual; walaupun tidak memegang
agama apapun, semua manusia itu spiritual karena kita
mempunyai spirit (Bahasa Inggris), atau ruh (bahasa
Arab), atau jiwa (Bahasa Sansekerta), atau pneuma
(Bahasa Yunani).

Nah, karena kita manusia memiliki spirit, makanya kita
itu BISA konek dengan Alam Semesta ini, dengan segala
sesuatunya yang memiliki spirit juga.

Ada spirit di diri saya, ada spirit di diri anda, ada
spirit di diri setiap manusia. Dan SPIRIT yang ada di
saya, di anda, dan di siapapun manusianya itu
sebenarnya SAMA SAJA.

Saya bisa berpikir dan merasakan, andapun begitu pula,
dan manusia2 lainnya begitu pula.

Lalu, kenapa anda dan saya mengganggap manusia2
lainnya itu beda ???

Kenapa anda membedakan manusia lain karena dia itu
BUKAN Muslim ? Jawab: Karena anda berpikir bahwa
manusia non Muslim itu less human, bukan manusia
sesungguhnya, dan akan masuk neraka zahanam.

Nah, jalan pikiran seperti itu VALID SAJA. Namanya
pemikiran, ya boleh saja anda berpikir seperti itu.

Lalu, orang2 lain BUKAN Muslim akan melihat bahwa
karena anda itu Muslim, maka anda itu dikuasai oleh
Setan sebab Muhammad itu manusia yang kemasukan Setan
dan menulis ayat2 Setan.

Jalan pikiran seperti itu juga VALID SAJA, karena
namanya cuma pemikiran. HAM dari setiap orang untuk
berpikir, berpendapat, dan mengutarakan pendapatnya
sebebas-bebasnya, dan itu BUKAN SARA.

Tetapi, manusia2 itu kalau dibiarkan tetap saja SARA
(mendiskriminasi manusia2 lain berdasarkan Suku,
Agama, Ras, dan Asal).

Kalau dibiarkan saja mengikuti naluri hewaniahnya,
yang merasa dirinya Muslim itu akan mendudukkan
manusia2 non-Muslim sebagai warganegara kelas kambing.

Kalau dibiarkan saja mengikuti naluri hewaniahnya,
yang merasa dirinya Kristen itu akan sama pula,
mendudukkan manusia2 non-Kristen sebagai warganegara
kelas kambing.

Sudah terbukti melalui SEJARAH bahwa kalau agama itu
dibiarkan merajalela, maka penyalah-gunaan kekuasaan
itu akan sejadi-jadinya. Katolik/Kristen pernah
membabi buta di Eropa. Islam juga membabi buta di
Eropa, Timur Tengah, dan India. Semuanya itu KORUP.

Kalau sudah masuk POLITIK, segalanya itu korup karena
naluri hewan itu dipakai sebagai patokan. Ada yang
namanya jaga benteng dan serang menyerang demi
keuntungan kelompok sendiri dan kerugian kelompok
lawan.

Pada pihak lain, apakah benar manusia2 itu berbeda
karena agamanya beda ???

Menurut saya tidak seperti itu realitanya karena saya
menemukan bahwa semua manusia itu memiliki SPIRIT yang
sama, KESADARAN yang sama. Kesadaran yang ada di saya,
di anda, dan di diri siapa saja adalah kesadaran yang
sama. Yang bisa berpikir, merasa gembira, merasa
sedih, merasa takut.

Lalu, kenapa manusia2 itu saling cakar2an seperti itu
hanya karena agamanya itu BEDA ???

Karena agama2 itu MENGAJARKAN bahwa orang yang
beragama lain itu beda, bukan manusia, dan akan masuk
neraka zahanam kecuali bertobat dan mengikuti agama
saya. Semua berpikir seperti itu.

Dan itu didasarkan pada Al Quran yang diklaim sebagai
FIRMAN ALLAH, atau Alkitab yang diklaim sebagai
PERKATAAN TUHAN, atau kitab2 lainnya yang diklaim
sebagai MUKJIJAT sehingga memiliki kuasa untuk
menjajah manusia2 lain.

Dan saya selama ini cuma bilang apa adanya bahwa SEMUA
kitab2 yang disucikan itu BUATAN MANUSIA.

Lalu ada yang bilang: "Katanya itu datang dibawa oleh
malaikat ???"

Lha, itu kan KATA ORANG. Dan "kata orang" merupakan
PEMIKIRAN. Dan pemikiran berarti KARYA MANUSIA, buatan
manusia. Segalanya buatan manusia belaka yang, kalau
kita sadar / eling, akan bisa kita tempatkan pada
proporsinya.

Karena semuanya buatan manusia, maka saya bisa bilang
bahwa JILBAB itu NONSENSE. Wanita bukan muhrim saya
yang buka beha di depan saya is oke2 saja. Itu HAM
dirinya sendiri dan tidak ada hubungannya dengan Surga
atau Neraka yang juga cuma KONSEP buatan manusia.

Dan itu HAM saya untuk berpendapat bahwa memakai
jilbab itu nonsense, dan BUKAN tentang spiritualitas.
Dan pendapat seperti itu BUKAN SARA. Yang SARA itu
kalau saya diskriminasi jilbab dan non jilbab. Yang
SARA itu kalau saya diskriminasi manusia berdasarkan
Suku, Agama, Ras, dan Asal.

Yang namanya kaum AGAMIS itu semuanya bilang
mengamalkan agamanya, tetapi yang mereka itu TIDAK mau
bilang adalah kenyataan bahwa yang mereka sebut agama
mereka itu adalah buatan manusia belaka.

Semua agama2 itu bilang memiliki WAHYU. Ada sesuatu
yang konon datangnya dari luar manusia dan merasuki si
nabi sehingga mengeluarkan Ayat-Ayat Tuhan.

Tetapi, Ayat-Ayat Tuhan bagi satu agama merupakan
Ayat-Ayat Setan bagi agama2 lainnya apabila manusianya
itu MASIH berkutat di cara berpikir JAHILLIYAH bahwa
hanya nabinya saja yang bisa menerima Ayat Tuhan dan
nabi2 yang diakui kelompok lain menerima Ayat Setan.

Nah, which one is the TRUTH ??? Kebenaran itu yang
mana ???

Menurut saya, kebenaran itu adalah KESADARAN yang ada
di diri anda. Kenapa seperti itu ? Karena Kesadaran di
diri anda itulah yang memutuskan anda mau percaya yang
mana. Kalau anda mau percaya bahwa nabi yang itu
menerima Ayat Tuhan dan nabi2 yang lain menerima Ayat
Setan, so be it, jadilah seperti itu.

Juga bisa saja kalau anda berbalik dan mau percaya
kepada nabi lainnya dan bilang bahwa tadinya anda
percaya kepada Nabi X yang sekarang ternyata anda
temukan memang benar menuliskan Ayat Setan, dan bukan
Ayat Tuhan.

Kalau anda mau pindah lagi ke Nabi Y dan bilang bahwa
anda dahulu KELIRU dan sekarang menemukan nabi
"sejati", itupun oke2 aja, hmmm hmmm hmmm...

Lalu, apabila seperti itu kejadiannya, yang manakah
kebenaran itu ? Which one is the TRUTH ?

The Truth atau Kebenaran itu adalah KESADARAN yang ada
di diri anda. Anda sadar bahwa anda itu sadar, dan
karena anda itu sadar, makanya anda bisa BERPIKIR dan
mengambil KEPUTUSAN secara rasional.

Tetapi agama2 itu itu TIDAK memberikan kesempatan
kepada anda untuk berpikir, sebab sekali anda telah
berpikir, maka anda akan TAHU bahwa segalanya itu
BUATAN MANUSIA belaka.

Supaya anda tidak berpikir, dibuatlah segala macam
DOKTRIN / DOGMA / FIQIH / whatever, blah blah blah...
lengkap dengan perangkat apa dan bagaimana anda bisa
MURTAD. Dan pikiran anda harus dibelenggu sehingga
anda selalu akan penuh KETAKUTAN.

Anda itu HARUS TAKUT, sebab kalau anda sudah tidak
takut lagi, maka segala pemuka agama itu tidak lagi
akan memiliki kemampuan untuk mempengaruhi anda untuk
berjihad yang tidak lain dan tidak bukan demi
kepentingan mereka sendiri. Demi kepentingan mereka
yang menyerukan jihad, dan sama sekali tidak ada
hubungannya dengan yang namanya ALLAH karena Allah
disitu cuma HASIL REKAYASA para pemuka agama itu
belaka.

So, kita TIDAK BISA menaruh harapan pada organisasi2
keagamaan karena semuanya itu JAGA BENTENG. Bukan
Benteng Allah, tapi benteng diri mereka sendiri.

Allah itu KONSEP DOANG. Kalau anda bisa menguraikan
Asma al Husna sampai bibir anda jontor dan lulus
dari pesantren kelas satu, yang anda kuasai itu BUKAN
Allah, melainkan KONSEP DOANG. Konsep tentang Allah.

Allah yang asli itu adanya di diri anda sendiri, dan
anda bisa menyebutnya dengan istilah apapun, atau
bahkan tidak menamakannya sama sekali.

Anda cukup diam saja, dan rasakan saja HIDUP yang ada
di diri anda. Rasakan KESADARAN anda yang melihat
segalanya datang dan pergi.

Kesadaran yang ada di diri anda itu SAMA PERSIS dengan
yang ada di saya, dengan yang ada di manusia2 lainnya,
dengan yang ada di nabi2. Dan itu kesadaran yang SAMA
dengan sesuatu yang anda namakan ALLAH.

Kesadaran yang ada di anda is part of Allah. Yang ada
di saya juga. Dan itu TIDAK TERGANTUNG dari agama
apapun yang dianut oleh anda dan saya. Bahkan, TANPA
agamapun, kesadaran yang ada di anda dan saya itu
TETAP.

Menurut saya, essensi dari SPIRITUALITAS adalah
menyadari hal itu saja. Just that. Cuma sadar / eling
bahwa Kesadaran kita itu semuanya SAMA, dan itu ABADI.

Nah, in light of that, apa gunanya segala ajaran2
syariat dan segala macam itu yang cuma membuat manusia
menjadi TERBUTAKAN dan merasa telah memiliki tiket
masuk surga hanya karena menutup rambutnya di depan
non muhrimnya? Cappe dehh !!

So, menyikapi kesalahan itu artinya MENGAKUI kepada
diri kita sendiri bahwa yang selama ini kita percayai
cuma BUATAN MANUSIA.

Di sebagian milis ada yang mencaci-maki Islam, ada
yang mencaci-maki Kristen, Buddha, Hindu, dsb... which
is oke2 saja. Wong buatan manusia, dan memang banyak
jeleknya sehingga pantas dicaci-maki kalau mau,
walaupun tidak ada gunanya juga karena it will lead to
nothing.

Ngapain saya caci maki agama2 itu yang memang semuanya
itu BUATAN MANUSIA BELAKA ? Kalaupun bagus, yang bagus
itu kelakuan manusianya. Kalaupun jelek, yang jelek
itu kelakuan manusianya. Kita bisa mengatakan "bagus"
atau "jelek" karena kita memiliki SISTEM NILAI. Ada
kelakuan manusia yang dinilai "bagus", dan ada
kelakuan manusia yang dinilai "jelek".

Agama2 itu sendiri BISA dinilai bagus dan jelek karena
semuanya BUATAN MANUSIA. Tetapi orang2 yang tidak
eling mengira bahwa semua agama itu "bagus" dan yang
jelek itu kelakuan manusianya.

Saya bilang tidak begitu. Saya bilang, karena buatan
manusia belaka, maka kita BISA menilai. Kalau bagus,
bilanglah bagus. Kalau jelek, bilanglah jelek. Kalau
PERNAH bagus di masa lalu (sesuai dengan jamannya) dan
sekarang sudah tidak bagus lagi (karena jamannya sudah
beda), ya bilanglah seperti itu.

Bilang saja, ucapkan saja. IQRA !!!

Manusia yang tidak eling itu mengira bahwa Tuhan atau
Allah itu perlu dibela. Saya bilang, Allah yang perlu
dibela itu BUKAN Allah melainkan berhala buatan
manusia belaka.

Agama yang perlu dibela itu BUKAN agama melainkan
buatan manusia belaka, hasil pemikiran manusia yang
perlu dipertahankan dengan segala macam isapan jempol
tentang amal dan ibadah dan pahala berupa masuk surga
serta ancaman masuk neraka. Kalau agama itu ASLI,
semua orang akan tahu dan itu tidak perlu dibela.

Nah, kalau kita mau JUJUR terhadap diri sendiri, kita
akan mengakui bahwa TIDAK ADA agama yang asli turun
dalam bentuk gelondongan dari langit: gedebuk !

Tidak ada itu, semuanya BUATAN MANUSIA belaka. Islam,
Kristen, Hindu, Buddha, dan ratusan sistem kepercayaan
di dunia ini semuanya BUATAN MANUSIA.

Nah, kalau kita sudah bisa menerima bahwa semuanya itu
buatan manusia belaka, maka kita bisa mulai berpikir
bahwa kita bisa melakukan sesuatu. Kita bisa berbuat
sesuatu sesuai dengan kemampuan kita sehingga kalau
kita melihat ada yang TIDAK MASUK AKAL di agama2
itu, kita akan bisa bilang bahwa itu NONSENSE, tidak
masuk akal. Bilang saja, itu HAM untuk berpendapat.

Lalu, karena kita sadar bahwa ada yang tidak masuk
akal, maka kita akan BISA melakukan yang kita anggap
lebih masuk akal, lebih rasional.

Yang ABADI itu bukanlah segala agama2 itu. Agama2 itu
datang dan pergi. Semuanya buatan manusia yang tidak
ada nilainya. Dalam dirinya sendiri, segala ayat2 yang
disucikan itu TIDAK ADA NILAINYA. Tidak ada nilai
inheren di dalam ayat2 yang disucikan itu. Cuma kertas
bertulisan kan ???

Karena bentuknya BUKU yang terbuat dari kertas, maka
saya bilang tidak ada Setan maupun Allah di dalam Al
Quran, Alkitab, Veda, dsb... Allah maupun Setan itu
adanya di dalam pikiran kita sendiri.

Semua itu adanya di dalam PIKIRAN anda dan saya
sendiri. Kalau anda berpikir bahwa Allah itu adanya di
dalam ayat2 kitab suci, maka anda salah besar. Ayat
kitab suci yang ditulis di atas kertas itu bisa
dibuang saja, dibakar saja, dan musnah. Segalanya itu
tidak bernilai di dalam dirinya sendiri. Secara
inheren means nothing.

Yang bernilai itu adalah KESADARAN (Consciousness)
yang adanya di diri anda. Ada yang memakai istilah
PIKIRAN (THE MIND) untuk merujuk kepada Kesadaran.
Artinya kurang lebih sama: Kesadaran, the Mind,
Consciousness.

Itulah yang abadi, dan adanya di diri anda, di diri
saya, dan di diri siapapun.

Lalu agama2 itu tempatnya dimana ? Agama2 itu BUATAN
saja, buatan pikiran manusia. Mereka itu bisa musnah,
bisa datang dan pergi, tetapi KESADARAN yang ada di
diri anda dan saya itu TETAP. Tidak diciptakan dan
tidak bisa dimusnahkan.

Sorry for that outburst! I absolutely abhor flamers. I have never, and I do

mean NEVER given a flame. Constructive criticism yes but never a flame.

That's my opinion based on my personal experiences. It may not be much but it's

mine and like some opinions, it probably stinks but at least I stick by what I

believe in. Keep writing whatever it is you're writing because if you like it

and you have any positive responses or constructive criticism that's all

that truly matters in the long run.

My two cents:

Well, first of all I disagree. Why? For one thing, the story doesn't revolve around the Shikon's powers, but the conflict Inuyasha has with himself and his consequential want (what he thinks to be a need) to be a full demon. The Shikon is the only thing that can grant this (and any) wish, thus, obtaining it becomes the main objective.

Secondly: The only reason they are in the predicament they're in is because of Inuyasha. Without Inuyasha, Kikyo wouldn't have had the lame excuse she came up with to get rid of the jewel and Naraku would have never been born (since he was spawn from the Onigumo's jealously of what he thought to be Kikyo's 'attachment').

Another: I'm pretty sure Kagome doesn't have more scenes, but then, you're talking about the anime. There are scenes that re cut from the manga, as well as fillers, so you can't go by that. Either way, so what?

Not to mention, both Kagome and Inuyasha are the main characters. She's his love interest; the somewhat clumsy, unlikely, heroine. While Inuyaha's the reason behind the entire manga, she is the catalyst - The object that set things back in motion. Without Kagome being pulled into the past, their numerous misdeeds would not be resolved and history would be disrupted. This would result in the time where Kagome lives/the present ceasing to be (see parallel universes).

I'm not sure ow far you are into the manga, but it is much deeper than it seems.

that's a good thought. tho we have confirmed that kagome is kikyou's
reincarnation. as for rin's relation to her, who knows? she may be a
distant grandmother/aunt/relative of some sort. apparently, she and
kagome were related somehow in Sunset Miko's She Who The Prophecy
Foretold, tho she hasn't finished it yet so i haven't quite figured
out exactly *how* they are. but the thought for relation between the
two is a very interesting concept.

Wow, a day later and almost everything has sold! There's only 3 lots in the
Art Style A section and the Art Style D trading card pieces still available

Hey all Nefra here! In response to this... I've been writing fanfiction for
close to six years now and I still get the occasional flame. And yes, most of
the flames consist of that kind of content, AKA misspelling, blatant hatred,
etc. It has been my personal experience that most flamers are people who

A. are miserable
B. have no life
C. have nothing better to do
D. are jealous to begin with
E. can't write or (obviously) spell
F. don't have enough confidence in themselves to write their story ideas
G. are bullies

Those are only a few of the reasons that I've encountered during my time in
writing fanfictions. I have to admit that I have responded in a rather
childish manner to them in the past but sometimes they're just so freakin' funny
that I can't help myself. Especially the ones where people say they hate me or
wish I would die. Like we need people like that reading our fanfictions. Out
there in the writing world you have critics that critique your work not the
person as an individual. I have personally been threatened, had my accounts
deleted, 'verbally' attacked via email, had my character questioned and
basically been called every name in the book. I just let it roll off of me.

In short, flamers are just another one of those things that are
unfortunately a part of the fanfiction universe. I've known more than one writer who
stopped writing all together because of flamers. If someone doesn't like a story
they should say why they don't like it not give a 'GO DIE' message. I mean
come on, do we as writers push the reader's face to their monitor and MAKE them
read our stuff? I despise people who think they're doing you a favor by
making us believe this. Oh, they may not come out and say it but that's the
impression they give. IT'S A FREE COUNTRY PEOPLE!

Sorry for that outburst! I absolutely abhor flamers. I have never, and I do
mean NEVER given a flame. Constructive criticism yes but never a flame.
That's my opinion based on my personal experiences. It may not be much but it's
mine and like some opinions, it probably stinks but at least I stick by what I
believe in. Keep writing whatever it is you're writing because if you like it
and you have any positive responses or constructive criticism that's all
that truly matters in the long run.

I don't necessarily write fics anymore, but as a reader I've seen many flames. In fact, some are so hurtful that stories have been changed and/or discontinued. What do I have to say to this? Don't let any ignorant person keep you from writing because there are going to be more people that like your fic than those that don't. And the funny thing is, some flamers don't even write fanfiction. So really, what right do they really have to criticize you? Personally, I believe in constructive criticism if you have to criticize anyone at all.
 
Prime example of all of this is the story To Wash it All Away by Crystal Echoes. I LOVED that story, but I couldn't keep up with all of the updates to it. So when I heard some flamer had upset her enough to change her story it really ticked me off. Okay, if you don't like a story nobody says you have to finish it or hurt the author. I know authors want feedback, but really some flames do more than good. And because of that stupid person, I'm not going to have the opportunity to finish the story.
 
Sorry for this whole rant, but I've read thousands of fics; and this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I know this is a juvenile saying but really: how would you feel if someone did that to you?

There is something, that has been bugging me for a while now.I remember
I read this story where they said Kagome was Rin's reincarnation. Now
I'm not saying it is true, because it was somebody's story,but it also
made me see things. Because Kagome ,and Rin do look alike. So who is to
say that she isn't Rins reincarnation.

But then I was like that couldn't be possible because Rin didn't have
the jewel in her, It was in Kagome.

I don't knw, So I would like to know other peoples insight on that.
And I haven't read the magna's so I wouldn't know.

Fortunately no, that's not the norm. You've managed to piss off a
bipolar gorilla-dog-thing. Not very many people can do that unless
your story's really awful or you've written about her favorite
character in a way that she hates. Flamers flame because they're
stupid. No life, no friends, no money, probably a big fat two bucket
of chicken eating idiot whose only friend is the internet. Shake it
off, tell her to kiss you where the good lord split you, and keep on
moving.

BTW...where's this story that gave her this manic mental shakedown?
